Save All & unsaved row highlights

Save All saves every changed row on the current page in one confirmed batch. Per-row Save still works. Changed SEO cells show an amber highlight so you can see what still differs from Shopify after your last successful save.

Save All applies to products, pages, blog posts, and custom metaobjects. It saves SEO fields only — not Row info context columns.

Each SEO input remembers the value from your last successful Save (or from when the page loaded). When a cell differs from that saved value:

  • The cell’s row gets an amber background
  • The pagination bar shows Save All (N) where N is the number of highlighted rows

If you edit a value and type it back to what was saved, the highlight clears — you do not need to Save to undo a mistake before writing to Shopify.

Row info columns (description, vendor, tags, body) are read-only reference — editing them does not highlight a row.

Click Save on a single row anytime. Only that row is sent to Shopify. After success, the highlight clears and the saved baseline updates for that row.

See Products, pages & blog posts for URL handle redirects and Admin sync.

  1. Edit rows manually and/or import SEO from CSV or JSON and click Apply to grid.
  2. Confirm N highlighted rows match what you expect.
  3. Click Save All (N) in the pagination bar (next to CSV / JSON).
  4. Read the confirmation — it shows how many rows will be written to Shopify Admin, one row at a time.
  5. Click Save N rows (or Cancel to go back without saving).

While the batch runs:

  • The dialog shows progress (Saving 2 of 5…)
  • Save All, per-row Save, CSV / JSON, search, filters, pagination, and locale changes are disabled until the batch finishes
  • You cannot cancel mid-batch — wait until it completes

After the batch:

  • Succeeded rows — highlight clears; values match Shopify
  • Failed rows — stay highlighted with an error under Save; a summary banner appears at the top
  • Fix failed rows and use Save All (M) again (only remaining dirty rows) or Save on one row

Typical round-trip after Grid transfer:

  1. Export the current page
  2. Edit SEO in a spreadsheet or with AI
  3. Import → Validate → Apply to grid
  4. Review highlighted rows
  5. Save All (N) → confirm

Import never writes to Shopify by itself — Save All completes the workflow without clicking Save on every row.

If you try to paginate, search, change status or tag filters, switch locale columns, or open Content types / Home while rows are highlighted, SEO Grid shows a leave dialog:

You have unsaved SEO changes on this page. Leave without saving?

  • Stay — remain on the page with your edits
  • Leave — navigate away; unsaved grid edits are lost (Shopify is unchanged)

There is no browser warning on tab close or refresh in v1 — save or use Save All before leaving if you care about the edits.

TopicBehaviour
ScopeCurrent visible page only (≤25 rows) — not the full catalog
What gets savedDirty rows only — unchanged rows are not POSTed
Row info / contextNever written by Save All
Admin edited elsewhereIf the same product is changed in Shopify Admin while this grid tab stays open, highlights may be wrong until you refresh the page
SpeedRows save sequentially with a short pause between each (~150ms)

Save All is not a store-wide bulk SEO editor — it saves changed rows on the page you are viewing, with confirmation before any write.
